In conjunction with leading the engineering department and establishing technical standards, Welch's main responsibilities will include driving and overseeing the continuous technological development of MediaTrust's PerformanceExchange (MTPX)-a real-time CPC bid exchange for performance marketing. Welch will be based in MediaTrust's Los Angeles office.
"We are very honored to have such an experienced professional join our team", said President of MediaTrust, Keith Cohn. "Art comes with a wealth of industry experience and domain expertise, having spent the last decade in the Internet advertising sector on both the engineering and publishing side of the business. With the continuous growth and development of the MTPX, such as new publisher and advertiser channels and functionality, it's crucial to have a seasoned leader, like Art, to help lead the way."
Before joining MediaTrust, Welch served as the CTO and co-founder of Rocket Power Media-a high growth email publisher and list manager-from 2006-2010. Before Rocket Power Media, Welch worked from 2000-2006 at Vendare Media as CTO, with Keith Cohn-founder and CEO of Vendare Media. During his six years at Vendare Media, Welch led a team of 75 technology professionals from pre-revenue to over $100mm in annual sales. It was during this time he developed an expertise in all forms of Internet advertising including email, display, and lead generation. Prior to joining Vendare Media, Welch held engineering management positions with Symantec and HP, focusing on the development of network and systems management products.
"One of the main reasons I joined MediaTrust is because I see a great business opportunity," Welch said. "I see some exciting trends taking place within the performance-marketing industry, such as the demand for CPC advertising and transparency, that are in high demand. I see what we have here with the MTPX's real-time CPC bidding and transparent reporting, and it meets all of those demands. We have all of the pieces, and now it's a matter of execution and delivery."
One such piece soon to come to fruition is MTPX's Display Channel. Currently in private beta, MTPX's Display Channel will allow advertisers to bid upon category specific display traffic. MTPX's Display Channel will deliver targeted display traffic from relevant websites, in real-time, using banner and text ads in strategic placements. The Display Channel will compliment MTPX's up and running Email Channel. MTPX's Email Channel allows advertisers to bid upon category specific and hard-to-reach email traffic, via targeted and compelling email creatives.
Combined, MTPX's Email Channel and Display Channel will provide a simple and effective solution for advertisers looking to connect with potential consumers and increase ROI. For advertisers or publishers interested in signing up with MTPX's Email Channel, or learning more about the Display Channel currently in private beta, please contact sales at sales(at)mediatrust(com.
